UAE TRA organises homeland cybersecurity event
UAE TRA to run cybersecurity track of International Security and National Resilience (ISNR) Exhib
The UAE Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) has announced that it will be the organiser of the third day of the upcoming International Security and National Resilience (ISNR) Exhibition and Conference, to be held in Abu Dhabi.
The TRA will be running the last day of the conference with a focus on cyber security, as part of its commitment to ensuring robust communications to support the security of the UAE.
The cyber security track will focus on the theme of Countermeasures in Preventing Cyber Wars through Collaboration,k and will include sessions on sustainable and secure cyberspace, cognitive early warning predictive systems, infrastructure and resilience issues, and convergence of physical and cyber security vulnerabilities, risks and solutions.
"We aim at making the UAE the region's information and communications technology (ICT) hub and encourage research and development in the ICT field. A lot of our efforts in these regards are focused on making communications throughout the country safe in support of the homeland security strategies. The ISNR 2012 Conference is an important platform for us to inform local, regional and international audiences of what we have accomplished so far and what we have planned for the future in regards to threats, such as identity theft and other forms of cyber-crimes as result of the sincere efforts made by our aeCERT team in this regard, which comes in line with our strategic goal of providing a safer cyber space for users in the UAE." said HE Mohamed Nasser Al Ghanim, director general of the TRA.
The fifth ISNR takes place on 19th to 21st March, at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC).
The conference will be chaired by several prominent personalities including Lt. General Saif Abdullah Al Shafar, Undersecretary of the UAE Ministry of Interior, Lord John Reid, Former Secretary of State for Defense and Founder and Chair of the University College of London's Institute for Security & Resilience Studies, Major General Khalifa Hareb Al Khaili, Assistant Undersecretary of the UAE Ministry of Interior for Resources and Support Services, and Brigadier Jassim Mohammad Al Marzouqi, Deputy Director of Human Resources at Abu Dhabi Police GHQ.
