Zscaler Zulu to protect against web threats
Online service scans specific URLs and ranks by threat level
Cloud security company Zscaler has announced a new online service that helps end users to assess the threat posed by a specific web page.
The Zulu service allows users to enter the URL of a suspect page, and then receive an overall risk score for the queried resource, along with detailed findings.
The service uses Zscaler's technology to assess pages by checking content, URL and host for telltale signs such as malicious code, known suspicious or malicious patterns and behaviour, and historic reputation of the host. Zulu uses intelligence derived from Zscaler's global cloud service, partner resources and public information, to calculate a comprehensive overall risk score.
"The Zscaler Zulu service sets a new bar in protecting the general public from web-based threats." said Michael Sutton, vice president of Security Research at Zscaler ThreatLabZ. "Zulu combines multiple data sources and builds upon the expertise that we've built as leaders in the web security industry to deliver a simple and free service that anyone can use to quickly and comprehensively identify malicious content."
