Microdasys ties up with Spectrami for ME region
Security solutions VAD to distribute Microdasys' enterprise portfolio
Spectrami, a regional value-added distributor specialising in IT security solutions, has teamed up with Microdasys to distribute the vendor's entire range of enterprise security solutions in the Middle East region.
The deal is in line with Spectrami's goal of expanding its solutions offerings with vendor partners that complement the company's existing portfolio of products in its stable.
Under the accord, which is effective from January 2012, Spectrami will distribute Microdasys entire product range in the Middle East geography. In addition, Spectrami will also assume vendor functions and support the channel with pre- and post-sales support, demand generation activities, demo centre and proof of concept lab, channel marketing campaigns and partner training initiatives aimed at developing the vendor's business in the region.
"We are extremely delighted to bring Microdasys' portfolio to the Middle East and are confident that as the pioneers in SSL and XML protection worldwide, they will be able to provide solutions that protect the local infrastructure," said, Anand Choudha, managing director, Spectrami. "There is a buzz going around with the new unknown threats that are getting in organisations with encrypted and XML traffic, and the adoption of Web 2.0 makes it even more complicated to manage security posture with the traditional security tool sets."
Choudha said the ongoing adoption of cloud computing and Web 2.0 technologies in enterprises and government agencies is adding to the security challenges that security administrators are facing today. He added that SSL encryption, XML/SOAP, RSS feeds and web services will continue to grow exponentially while traditional content scanners and firewalls are incapable of inspecting these protocols and applications.
He pointed out that Microdasys products enable the adoption and safe use of SSL encryption and XML/SOAP applications across the enterprise network.
Oliver Ott, general manager of Microdasys EMEA, said the company is delighted to add Spectrami to its network of partners in the Middle East region. Ott said as the company is looking to build on the success it has enjoyed with its OEM business, partnering with regional players such as Spectrami augurs well with its strategy of developing a strong channel business.
Ott said Spectrami has a proven track record of successfully bringing new technologies to the region and the company is looking forward to a very successful partnership for the benefit of channel partners and customers across the region.
"We believe that through our alliance with Spectrami, Microdasys will steadily build a solid channel business and raise brand awareness around its solutions offerings in the channel," he said. "As the pioneers of SSL content scanning we enjoy continued high demand for our SCIP SSL Content Proxy and with the recent release of our XSG XML Security Gateway, we needed a highly qualified distribution partner to assist and support our channel partners and end-users in the Middle East."
