To mark the launch of the Sony Tablet S, from 31st January to 3rd February at the Mall of the Emirates, Sony has scheduled several live performances, interactive 3D installations and giveaways.

Sony is setting up the Sony Tablet zone in the Galleria area of MOE and the stand will be split into five zones representing the Tablet's five main uses - watch, listen, play, communicate and read.

Virgin Radio presenters Kris Fade and Priti Malik will be hosting their show from the Listen zone in the Sony stand and will attempt a 28-hour record-breaking broadcast. The show will go on-air at its regular time of 6am on Wednesday 1st February and run non-stop until 10am on 2nd February.

The 28-hour broadcast will be followed-up by two-hour road shows from the Mall of the Emirates featuring other Virgin Radio presenters who will link to the studio and entertain mall-goers as well as other listeners.

The breakfast team will host mini challenges, give away prizes, and chat up with special guests. There will also be road shows presented by Al Arabiya and Radio 4: 89.1 FM.

Tash, the first Sony Music Middle East signed musician, will also perform live at the mall.

"The Sony Tablet S is a unique combination of the best technology and features from Sony's portfolio of devices. This launch event signifies the ability of the device to double up as an MP4 player, a viewing device, an e-reader and even a mobile gaming device, in the most compact format. We are excited about the new gadget and look forward to providing a wonderful new experience to our customers," said Mathew Mathai, general manager, Marketing Communications, Sony Gulf.

The Sony Tablet S is the brand's first foray into the tablet market.
