The new Porsche Design BlackBerry smartphone is now on sale in the UAE.

The new Porsche design P'9981 smartphone from BlackBerry is now available in the UAE at all Porsche Design stores, as well as authorised retailers.

The phone features a forged stainless steel frame, hand-wrapped leather back cover, sculpted QWERTY keyboard, and crystal clear touch display.

The Porsche Design P'9981 also comes with a Porsche Design user-interface and a built-in Wikitude World Browser augmented reality app. The handsets also feature a premium, exclusive PIN that easily identifies the user as having a P'9981 smartphone.

"It is a representation of the iconic Porsche Design styling philosophy and RIM's technology-driven focus, which combine to deliver engineered luxury and performance in a smartphone for the discerning consumer."

The Porsche Design has a 1.2 GHz processor and Liquid Graphics technology, designed to enable a responsive touch experience with fast and smooth graphics.

It also features HD video recording, 24-bit high resolution graphics, advanced sensors for new augmented reality applications, and built-in support for Near Field Communications. The phone comes with 8 GB of on-board memory, expandable to up to 40 GB with a microSD card.

The phone runs on the BlackBerry 7 operating system and includes a next generation BlackBerry browser.
