Telco sector braced for CommsMEA Awards
Last year's winners are eager to defend their titles at this year's event.

The judging process for the 6th edition of the CommsMEA Awards has been completed, and the shortlisted companies will discover whether they have scooped an award at the ceremony, which is being held this evening at Godolphin Ballroom, Jumeirah Emirates Towers, Dubai.

The awards will be presented during a gala dinner within walking distance of Dubai World Trade Center, where the GSM/3G Telco World Summit is taking place.

The evening will kick off with a cocktail reception at 7.30pm, followed by the awards.

This year's winners were selected by a panel of international judges comprising: Jawad Abbassi, founder and general manager of Arab Advisors Group; Akshay Lamba, Chief Architect and Head of IT Strategy at MTS Indian operations; David Tusa, Principal, Booz & Company, Middle East; Michèle Scanlon, Principal Consultant, Indian Atlantic Telecoms; Rajeev Lalwani, Partner,  KPMG’s Management Consulting Practice, Lower Gulf; Mark Kremers, associate partner, Oliver Wyman.

The awards were particularly hard fought this year, with more than 80 entries pouring in across 16 categories, a high proportion of which made it through to the shortlist.

The winners will collect their awards in front of 250-plus of the leading lights of the Middle East and Africa's telecoms sector.
