STC has increased its network carrying capacity for Hajj.

STC has raised its mobile network capacity to be able to serve more than 15 million users during Hajj in the Makkah, holy sites, and Madinah, according to STC.

STC will also continued to provide coverage for the Masha'er Train which runs from Minna to Arafat passing through Muzdalifa, and will increase the network capacity at train junctions in order to meet high demand for telecommunications during Hajj.

The company has also built one base station at each high traffic area for the Masha'er train.

Bandar Al Gafari, vice president Network at STC said that both Al Jawal networks and broadband services registered an increase of 41% in mobile traffic as compared to last year in Makkah and Madinah. STC has also registered an increase of 276% for wire and wireless broadband services in Makkah and the other Holy Sites.
