Aptec unveils Advanced Logistics Services
Logistics services arm to offer third-party services in GCC, Egypt & Levant region
Regional value-add distributor, Aptec Holdings, has launched Advanced Logistics Services (ALS), its technology logistics services subsidiary.
The company will operate through its network of six owned and leased high-tech warehousing and support facilities in UAE, KSA, Kuwait, Egypt and Lebanon.
Aptec states that ALS is a fully licensed and authorised third party logistics business, approved by both the Department of Economic Development (DED) in Dubai and the Jebel Ali Free Zone Authority (JAFZA).
ALS is targeting ICT companies entering the region or improving its local footprint and services. ALS' services and solutions will cover contract logistics, domestic transportation, supply chain solutions, supply chain management and consultancy, custom brokerage and clearance services, IT assembly and reverse logistics (RMA & service).
Dr Ali Baghdadi, CEO and president of Aptec Holdings, said: "Even in times of cloud computing and online services, technology companies require efficient supply chain solutions. With product obsolescence speed increasing quarter by quarter, there is only a narrow window of time left to get products to market or risk taking a loss."
Baghdadi said Aptec has been keen to support its partners in many areas and this is another initiative aimed at helping them to grow their business and focus on business development.
"We are very proud to have built a set-up that will allow our partners, both vendors and resellers, to benefit and participate from our logistics know-how and support them to turn their technology supply chain into a competitive advantage by working closely with ALS", says Mario M. Veljovic, Operations & Services director at Aptec Holdings.
With over 30 years of ICT distribution experience, Aptec has the expertise and infrastructure to support the ICT businesses that operate in computers and peripherals, consumer electronics, telecommunications, semiconductors, supplies and consumables, and healthcare IT equipment.
