BigTime Arabia appoints new GM
Dr Roland Beckmann-Kunz will be in charge of developing the company’s business in the MENA region
BigTime Arabia, the Dubai-based global Mobile Value Added Services (MVAS) business, has announced the appointment of Dr Roland Beckmann-Kunz as general manager.
He will work directly with the C-level suite of BigTime Entertainment Group and his appointment is effective immediately.
Dr Beckmann-Kunz will be responsible for BigTime Arabia's business in MENA and will work closely with the rest of the management team to capitalise on the significant uptake in mobile broadband and wireless technology in these regions. He will be in charge of helping to attract and retain customers and enhancing their revenue streams through the deployment of mobile marketing campaigns and related activities.

Dr Beckmann-Kunz has 18 years of marketing and strategy experience, including 12 years in leading positions in telecoms and media companies.
His past roles have included group head of Content for Etisalat Group, and vice president of Content & Digital Commerce for Vodafone Germany. He has also had senior jobs with Deutsche Telekom and AOL Bertelsmann.
Dr Beckmann-Kunz was most recently founder and CEO of Incipio Performance Design Group, which focuses on digital business development, strategy and sales for leading media and telecoms clients in the Middle East.

BigTime Arabia was formed in October as a joint venture between BigTime Entertainment and global conglomerate the Libra Group and is a specialist provider of SMS-based gaming and mobile marketing campaigns for mobile telecoms operators and media groups, and will focus on the MVAS sector in the Middle East, North Africa, Asia and the Americas.
