Adyton System will demonstrate its unique approach to securing corporate networks at GITEX Technology Week. The security specialist will display its ‘whitelisting’ technology, which requires all activities conducted over a network to have been authorised before they can be carried out.

The Adyton solution uses an application analytics engine with advanced deep packet inspection (DPI) technology, to monitor all traffic on the network at the application and content level.

Only transmissions that are fully understood and have been validated are allowed to pass, based on a user-specific whitelist of applications that are defined by the company’s network administrators.

The technology not only helps to prevent attacks that mimic normal behaviour of applications that have been enabled by firewall rules, but can also prove effective in data loss prevention, by controlling outbound traffic on the network.

“Network security systems are notoriously difficult to administer,” says Martin Menschner, CTO of Adyton.

“Adyton’s application analytics engine supports network security administrators by providing application visibility that not only shows who is using which applications, but even the kind of operation that is used for a certain application.

“Based on this fine-grained user-specific and application-aware usage information, wizards help even the inexperienced administrator to set up a highly secure rule set. Applications and application operations are selectively enabled. Upon activation of the rule set, every other data transmission will be blocked. This whitelisting approach is inherently free of any inadvertent security loopholes.

“At GITEX we will for the first time showcase our line of next-generation firewalls using the revolutionary technology of full-validation whitelisting. We welcome network security administrators, information security officers and interested channel partners from the region for a hands-on experience to our booth at the German Pavilion located in the Trade Centre Arena of Sheikh Saeed Hall,” he adds.
