With global networks increasingly struggling to cope with the amount of data being generated, Riverbed Technology, a WAN optimisation specialist, hopes to raise awareness of its products at GITEX Technology Week.

The UK-based company is showcasing its suite of IT performance solutions
including Riverbed Steelhead appliances, Riverbed Cascade and the Riverbed application delivery controller (ADC), which deliver high-performance software-based load balancing and traffic management solutions for virtual and cloud environments.

“GITEX continues to offer a platform for us to showcase our expanding suite of solutions to the Middle East market. Our recent announcements ensure that we are well placed to meet the ever growing needs of enterprise organisations in the Middle East as they investigate and implement disaster recovery, virtualisation, consolidation and cloud computing environments,” says Paul Sherry, Regional Sales Director, Middle East, Riverbed.

Riverbed transforms IT performance around the globe by providing solutions spanning wide area network (WAN) optimisation, application-aware network performance management (NPM), application delivery and web content optimisation (WCO).

Furthermore, various trends in the ICT space mean that the data flowing over networks will increase further. Virtualisation, consolidation and cloud computing promise huge cost savings and improved efficiencies, but as users move farther from their data, slow applications and file transfers can stall these strategic initiatives.
