Audio-visual and communications distributor NMK will offer demonstrations of new products it said highlight the potential for transference from the world of IT to the AV sector at this year’s InfoComm MEA.
“As professional AV equipment is converging with IT infrastructure, it is only natural that we can expect to meet the right people, as the event will be held in conjunction with GITEX,” explains Business Development Manager, Chicco Hiranandani. “By exhibiting at the InfoComm event, we are certain to meet AV professionals who are not only equipped with the knowledge and experience to understand our products, but are also eager to know the latest in the AV field.”
Included in the latest products on display will be new audio routing and DSP solutions from Rane and digital audio snakes from Roland – both of which run on the CAT5 protocol. A twisted pair cable for running signals, CAT5 is commonly used in structured cabling for computer networks such as Ethernet and also telephony and video signals.
According to Hiranandani, NMK will use the InfoComm event to educate end users on the latest technologies, including CAT5, in the hopes of better designs, better implementation of AV projects and ultimately the success of distribution companies such as NMK in the medium- to long-term.
“We regularly participate in other exhibitions that really cater to the system integrators or production companies. With InfoComm, we hope to meet people that are actually the end users, not to bypass our customers but rather to educate the end users about what new technology exists so they can ask for it,” he says.
NMK, which Hiranandani said prides itself on being proactive in its markets, will also showcase other solutions at InfoComm, including products from its microphone, mixer, amplifier, speaker, processor, cable and connector lines. Its ‘IT in the world of AV’ theme will also be continued in its demonstrations of the latest monitoring and control solutions that operate on iOS devices like the iPhone or iPad.
