Jumbo Electronics will once again show its support for GITEX Shopper by having a presence at the consumer exhibition.
Jumbo has been present at Shopper since its inception and this year is no different. The retail titan plans to use this year’s shopping bonanza to not only increase sales but to connect with regional consumers.
Deepak Khetrapal, CEO, Jumbo Electronics, says: “GITEX Shopper is an extremely important event for us because it gives us the opportunity to connect with customers and is also a great indicator for which products are in demand. Along with deals for some great value offers, we also look forward to launching new products at the event.”
According to a company spokesperson, Jumbo recorded double digit percentage increases in sales at Shopper last year. It intends to outperform that this year and feels that the hottest products at Shopper 2011 will be laptops and tablets.
Khetrapal continues: “Though sales are important to us, GITEX Shopper also gives us the opportunity to reach out to consumers beyond our existing stores. We will have a number of exciting activities at this year’s event that will help visitors interact better with the Jumbo brand.”
Jumbo has over 35 stores across the United Arab Emirates and Oman and is currently
looking to increase its presence in countries such as Qatar, Bahrain and Kuwait. The company also has regional expansion plans to grow beyond retail in areas such as IT solutions, expanding on consumer appliances through its Supra brand, and leveraging its distribution capabilities.
