WAN optimisation specialist Blue Coat will be offering show visitors a look at what come’s next from this expanding technology segment.
Blue Coat is exhibiting at GITEX TECHNOLOGY WEEK to educate prospective customers on the latest solutions for optimising Intenet traffic to ensure users can access the content they need, without unecessary security risks or exposure.
The company will also show off its new range of WAN optimisation solutions that speed up services for end users, while saving companies’ WAN bandwidth, along with its latest cloud-based web-security products that are designed to deliver web-security to all size of end user customer.
Nigel Hawthorn, VP EMEA Marketing at Blue Coat, comments: “GITEX is the pre-eminent event in the region where everyone in the IT industry meets and relationships are forged that last for years. It is the only place that everyone attends and sets the agenda for the rest of the year.”
The company has recorded some major customer wins in the region during the past year, Hawthorn says, including the Internet Services Unit (ISU) of King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST), which has deployed Blue Coat’s high-end proxy appliances to protect and accelerate applications across KACST’s network and optimize bandwidth capacity; and ISP Lebanon Online has deployed the Blue Coat CacheFlow 5000 appliance, which enables the company to cut international bandwidth expenditure by 50%, while handling increases in network traffic and subscriber growth, and delivery of rich media content.
Blue Coat was also recently positioned in the Leader’s Quadrant of Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for Secure Web Gateway, in recognition of its Blue Coat Web security portfolio, and was confirmed as the leader in Infonetics Research’s Content Security Gateway Appliance market share report for the fifth year running.
The vendor has also played a leading role in industry efforts to address the transition to IPv6, both through the introduction of IPv6 ready solutions, and through involvement in industry awareness events such as World IPv6 Day in June and the IPv6 Global Summit.
