Citrix demonstrates virtualisation benefits
Citrix will use this year’s GITEX Technology Week in Dubai to showcase its range of desktop virtualisation products
Citrix will use this year’s GITEX Technology Week in Dubai to showcase its range of desktop virtualisation products. At the 2011 show, visitors to the US vendor’s stand will be given live demonstrations of technologies such as virtual desktop delivery to any device and extending a private data centre into the cloud, as well as software-as-a-service (SaaS) applications including Go-to-Meeting and Go-to-my-PC.
“GITEX provides us with a platform to further enhance our profile in the region, as well as educate participants in the exhibition through live demos of state-of-the-art virtual computing, SaaS and cloud computing solutions,” comments Aaron White, Regional Director, MENA. “We will be joined by leading Citrix experts from around the world and showcasing products and solutions on our own Citrix stand this year.”
Citrix says that is already working with companies in verticals including telecomms, oil & gas, education and finance across the Middle East. In recent months, the company has expanded its presence, launching its operation in Saudi Arabia in January 2011, with plans to open further locations in Qatar and Oman by the end of this year. Some of Citrix’s most popular solutions are its flagship Xen product, which enables IT departments to implement virtualisation across the data centre, user desktops and applications. Following its recent acquisition of Cloud.com, Citrix now offers a complete portfolio of cloud solutions, including virtualisation, orchestration and networking, known collectively as CloudStack. All of these will be showcased at GITEX.
