Aptec signed as VMware Authorised Training Centre
Distributor to offer instructor-led VMware virtualisation courses from Dubai
Regional value-add distributor Aptec Distribution has signed as the VMware Authorised Training Centre (VATC) in the Middle East region.
Aptec says the partnership paves way for it to open a training centre at its UAE regional head office with the KSA and Egypt to follow soon. The distributor expects the training centre, which will be housed at its Dubai Internet City office, to be fully operational at the end of next month.
The move by VMware to appoint Aptec as its VATC partner follows the virtualisation vendor's recent decision to sign regional distributor Magirus as its training provider for the VMware Certified Professional (VCP) course to partners in the EMEA region.
Mario Veljovic, operations director, Aptec Group, said the company is delighted at this partnership with VMware and is looking forward to working with the vendor in providing virtualisation solutions training to channel partners in the region.
Veljovic, who is also general manager, Advanced Technology Services (ATS), a professional services subsidiary within the Aptec Group, said the company will start offering classroom, instructor-led training to partners in the Middle East region. "We already have a VMware Certified Instructor on board who will be conducting training for channel partners in the region. The company has also secured addition office space within our current premises that will host the training centre," he said.
He said initially the vSphere: Install, Configure and Manage course will be offered, before adding more courses for partners. "We also intend to add virtualisation and technology labs to the training as the company already runs these programs through the Data Centre Partner Alliance Programme which was unveiled earlier this year," he said.
"The vSphere: Install, Configure and Manage course is a 5-day programme."
Aptec is the only VMware Middle East distributor to offer classroom style training for channel partners in the region.
