GITEX continues to focus on the issues that matter most to ICT users.

GITEX Technology Week is introducing brand new elements to reinforce its position as the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia (MEASA) region's leading ‘finger on the pulse' technology event.

As one of the three largest ICT exhibitions in the world, the show connects more than 136,000 industry professionals from five continents with over 3,500 suppliers, and is one of the most influential and high-profile events in the global ICT sector today.

"Gitex strives year-on-year to drive the regional ICT market and provide a platform for the world's most illustrious technology organisations to share their knowledge and products on the essential issues of the day," says Trixee Loh, Senior Vice President, Dubai World Trade Centre, organiser of the exhibition. "Following the event's extremely successful 30th anniversary last year, we committed to adding even more cutting edge components in order for Gitex to strengthen its global positioning."

Gitex Technology Week, which will run from 9 - 13 October 2011 at Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre, is themed ‘Redefine the Future' and will tackle key industry developments with dedicated first time features and sectors.

As data security increasingly becomes a make or break game of cat and mouse, the brand new Cyber Security @ GITEX is aimed at providing both corporations and individuals with the information, awareness and tools to combat the growing tide of cybercrime. Officially endorsed by the TRA and supported by aeCERT, Cyber Security @ GITEX will feature a series of daily interactive demonstrations and educational presentations from Terabyte Sponsor, Abu Dhabi Police, Gigabyte Sponsors, McAfee and aeCERT, in association with Black Hat. Sessions will cover the latest trends and vulnerabilities on a range of subjects from mobile malware, identity cloning, malware through widgetization through to credit card fraud, phishing websites and social media malware and more. 

Comguard, Computerlinks, EDIMAX, ESET Middle East, Kaspersky Lab UK, Secure Network Distributors and X-Concepts Middle East will be among the leading IT security companies showcasing some of the most effective protective software.

Also new to GITEX 2011, GITEX Digital Marketing is an opportunity to assess, evaluate and realise the full potential of what is becoming an essential business tool. Digital marketing is being employed by businesses in the Middle East as consumers utilise social media, smartphones and tablet PCs, contributing to the increased use of digital media. Key contributors to DITEX Digital Marketing will include Yahoo, Ikoo and ICANN.

After it received countless requests from global exhibitors, InfoComm International will be launching its first ever tradeshow for the Middle East, Africa and Gulf region.

Running alongside GITEX, InfoComm Middle East & Africa (IFMEA) is a joint venture between InfoCommAsia and Dubai World Trade Centre.

As well as a dedicated showcase for Audio Visual products and solutions on the tradeshow floor, IFMEA will feature CTS-accredited education seminars from the InfoComm Academy, along with a variety of opportunities for manufacturers to present their solutions in conferences and training sessions. This combination of networking and education in a market with vast potential has already proved irresistible to many key players in the AV market.
