Symantec keeps the Cloud safe
Symantec shows security and storage solutions for cloud computing
Security and storage management software vendor Symantec will use this year's GITEX Technology Week to promote its array of Cloud computing solutions.
The company's Symantec.Cloud stand will feature a number of Cloud-based technologies including off-site hosted security and information solutions, delivering an always-on, remote service to enterprises and small to medium-sized enterprises.
"We will be giving strong prominence to our Cloud business, by setting up a stand-alone Symantec.Cloud stand, where customers can find out more about our strong Cloud product offerings in the area of e-mail monitoring, cleansing and security, backup and archiving services," explains Johnny Karam, Middle East & North Africa Regional Director at Symantec.
"We will [also] be making a significant announcement in the area of storage management, and we will be showcasing our Insight technology built into the latest release of Symantec Endpoint Protection 12," he adds.
He adds that Symantec will also take the opportunity to demonstrate a number of new technologies, while also strengthening and building relationships with both customers and channel partners.
Another major focus for the company during GITEX will be on security issues surrounding social networks and mobile devices.
"We have seen over the past year the growth of targeted attacks on specific installations, and attacks on mobile devices and on social networking," Karam says.
"These will continue to evolve as mobile becomes ubiquitous as a device to access the internet. Targeted attacks appear to be both politically and economically motivated."
