RIM makes Bold moves at GITEX
New BlackBerry Bold and PlayBook tablet highlights for RIM
Research in Motion (RIM), the mobile communications solutions provider, is to showcase its new BlackBerry Bold 9900 smartphone slated for launch in the coming months, in addition to the BlackBerry PlayBook tablet and other smartphones, during this year's GULFCOMMS.
"GULFCOMMS is the ideal platform to exhibit and promote our products in the Middle East, helping us increase brand awareness, meet with existing and potential partners, as well as showcase new products and creating a great opportunity for us to interact with local and regional customers. It allows us to increase exposure, generate sales deals, strengthen partnerships and build new ones. The size of the attending audience makes it a staple on our events calendar, and a strong platform for us to introduce new products to the global public," says Sandeep Saihgal, Managing Director, Middle East, Research In Motion.
RIM has a global footprint with over 595 carrier and distribution partners, making the BlackBerry available in over 175 countries. "RIM's attendance at GITEX will allow us to grow both our consumer base and our partners' network. Appearing at GITEX also allows us to position our products as the most sensible add-on to grow and expand businesses, offering low cost of ownership, enhanced security and the latest technology," Saihgal says.
RIM recently unveiled BBM Music, a cloud-based music service for its users. The service allows users to store a music collection online and listen to it directly without using any local storage on the user's device.
