Sony has unveiled the new Vaio Z Series mobile PC, which is constructed out carbon fibre, weighs 1.165 kg and runs on a second generation Intel Core i7 processor and a high speed SSD RAID 0.
The computer has a high-resolution full High Definition display with an anti-reflective glossy finish. The computer also features a Quick Boot function designed to load Windows 7 Professional in approximately 14 seconds.
The Vaio Z Series features a Power Media Dock, which is a docking station that links with Vaio via an optical cable. The proprietary port can also be used to attach regular USB devices to Vaio when it is not docked.
The media dock has high I/O data transfer based on ‘Light Peak' architecture, allows a wide range of connectivity options and slot-in Blu-ray Disc drive.
With the Power Media Dock added, the Vaio Z Series can manage up to four displays via HDMI and/or VGA output ports.
The Vaio Z features an AMD Radeon HD 6650M with 1GB VRAM built-in, designed to assure crisp and smooth results, from 3D CAD to gaming.
The Vaio Z Series is designed to offer 6.5 hours of continuous use, but with the optional Sheet Battery attached, battery life be extended to 13 hours.
The beam-forming microphone directivity and HD web camera powered by Exmor technology is designed to ensure clearer communication and the Backlit keyboard illuminates when the sensor detects that the room is too dark.
The new 2011 Vaio Z Series of ultra-mobile performance notebook PC is currently available in the UAE at select official Vaio outlets.
