Acer debuts Liquid mt smartphone
The Acer Liquid mt is designed to be able to act as a wireless hub and runs on the Android Froyo operating system.

Acer has released its Liquid mt smartphone in the Middle East, the phone features advanced multimedia content and quick web-browsing.

The Liquid mt features a rounded 3.6-inch display, a stainless steel battery cover and chrome trims and also comes with LED indicators on the upper part of the telephone to notify the user of missed calls, incoming messages and battery status.  

The phone runs on a Qualcomm 7230 800 MHz process, designed to speed up navigation and runs on the Android Froyo OS, which is made to respond to requests five times faster than earlier versions.

The phone also features Flash support, a JavaScript engine and WiFi n [ and HSDPA 14.4Mbps  for connectivity.

Users can record video in HD at 720p (30fps) and watch high-resolution videos in Xvid format as well as take photos with the 5MP A/F camera with LED flash, image stabiliser, and facial and smile recognition.

The Acer phone has a new user interface, designed to make applications easier to manage; application information is shown on the screen even when it is locked and users can view application history, start up most used appliations, customise the homescreen and re-arrange access to favourite applications with the new interface.

Acer's SocialJogger Application also gathers together a user's Facebook and Twitter feeds, allowing users to surf through updates with the trackwheel, receive updates directly through the dedicated widget on the homescreen, and comment or share directly from the interface.

The phone can also be used as a wireless server through DLNA/UPnP technology and all the multimedia content saved on the smartphone can be shared with a user's PC, TV or game console.

The phone is also capable of linking a user's PC to the internet via a USB connection.

The Acer EasyLink PC software is free of charge and enables a protected internet connection.

The phone is available in two colours: trendy silver or elegant brown and will retail at AED1,799 ($490) at all major electronics stores in the UAE.
