Cisco launches Connected Women initiative in UAE
Programme aims to increase number of women working in technology, provide training, support
Cisco has launched its Cisco Connected Women (CCW) initiative within the UAE. CCW is a global initiative which offers female employees opportunities for development, networking and philanthropic activities.
This chapter of CCW is the first in the UAE and currently 50 female Cisco employees in the UAE are taking part in the mentoring, career advice, work-life balance and personal development activities offered by the programme.
CCW in the UAE also provides programmes and resources that help women to develop their skills as individual contributors, managers and executives.
CCW is designed to create a human network of shared intelligence, best practices and rapport, built upon an open community.

We are delighted to bring the initiative to the region, in order to support the growth of women in top business roles in the UAE. We believe that we have many talented women within Cisco and that through networking, collaboration, coaching and learning from each other we enrich our work and personal experience," said Claire Jones, regional manager and CCW UAE Lead, Cisco, UAE.
CCW, created by women for women, recognises the importance of increasing the number of women working within the technology industry and aims to attract, develop and retain talented female employees and build a local network of women in the technology industry through professional training.
The Cisco Connected Women network was initially known as the Cisco Women Action Network, and has grown over the last ten years, to include over 4,000 global members.
