Visa cancellation goes electronic

Firms seeking employment visa, labour card cancellation must apply via new Tesheel service centres

Visa cancellation goes electronic
Employers wishing to cancel work visas or labour cards must now apply via an electronic cancellation system in Tesheel service centres.

The Ministry of Labour and Ministry of the Interior has begun implementing an electronic labour card cancellation system, effective from today.

Firms which are seeking to cancel staff work permits and labour cards will now have to apply to Tesheel service centres, set up for this purpose. From 3rd July, labour offices will no longer process cancellation applications.

Currently there are 25 Tesheel service centres in Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Fujairah, Ras Al Khaimah, Umm Al Qaiwain and Al Ain City.

In Abu Dhabi applications for visa cancellations will be submitted to the printing offices partnering with the Tesheel system.

The opening of the electronic cancellation system heralds the first phase of an electronic link-up between the two ministries.
