Sharp announces touchscreen printer range
New multi-function printers can connect to the internet and cloud services
Sharp Middle East has launched the newest of its next-generation printing solutions in the Middle East. The printer is the company's first touch-controlled Multi Function Printer (MFP) range, which features a finger-swipe touch control panel.
The range has three models, the full-colour MX-2610N, MX-3110N and MX-361ON, which all have a 10.1-inch touch-based control panel which controls features including accessing documents, functions and settings.
"We are very happy to be able to offer these new products to businesses in the region. The addition of a very flexible, incredibly user friendly control system for these new colour MFPs gives a new dimension in controlling the print environment in an office. The intuitive interface has been a revolution in mobile phones, and now we have brought the simplicity of touch screen to the MFP," said Gautam Chakrabarty, Sharp Middle East deputy general manager Marketing, Business Solutions Division.
The printer's touchscreen control panel is designed to be able to be customised, allowing users to put the most used tools and applications on the home screen. The printer also allows users to preview documents before they are printed. The MFPs are designed to allow users to email files, edit documents, and save and send office work files such as spreadsheets.
"The new range is geared towards the future of office automation. With features enhancing networking and connectivity combined with intuitive interfaces packaged in an environmentally advanced design, these solutions will help take businesses in the Middle East into the next generation of office operation," said Chakrabarty.
Sharp says that one of the biggest bonuses of the MFPs is their ability to access the internet as well as cloud systems. This means that the printers can be used without a PC and can access software-as-a-service programmes.
The new range of MFPs also features Sharp's Open System Architecture (OSA) applications, designed to streamline and automate a range of everyday office tasks.
