Mobily and Gosi partner for business park
Operator is to offer its services in areas including IPTV and direct internet access.
Saudi Arabian telco Mobily has signed an agreement with General Organisation for Social Insurance (Gosi) for the management of the telecom infrastructure in its Wahat Ghurnatah business park.
Under the terms of the agreement, Mobily is to offer its services in areas of IPTV, ethernet VPN (L2), IP VPN (L3), and direct internet access.
Dr Marwan Alahmadi, Mobily's chief business officer, said that due to fierce competition in the real estate segment of the telecommunications market in the Kingdom, operators were looking at providing more converged and efficient business solutions, and we are well positioned to deliver solutions at this level.
Built on the outskirts of Riyadh, the business park is being financed and built by Gosi at an overall investment of SR1.525 billion ($406 million). The investment by Gosi in Wahat Ghurnatah business park comes as part of the government agency's overall strategy in growing and diversifying its investments so as to generate revenues meeting its obligations towards the public, according to a statement.
