Etisalat squashes scam rumours
Etisalat has denied rumours that customers will have their credit drained or be overcharged for calls to an unnamed international destination.

Etisalat has denied rumours that an international scam is draining talk time from Etisalat users' phones when they try to call back numbers in a specific country, which Etisalat has not named.

Jabir Al Janahi, vice president, Corporate Communications, Etisalat said that the rumors are incorrect and that the tariff for calling the unnamed international destination is charged based on the normal tariff rate for that country.

According to Etisalat, the company's customer care centre has not received any complaints from Etisalat users about call time being drained when calling the country.

Al Janahi has asked Etisalat's customers to make sure these rumours are correct before forwarding the information on to friends and family via email and social networking.

He added that customers are requested not to respond to unknown numbers and persons and must never reveal any personal information like credit cards numbers, passwords and other personal information to any one over the phone.
