7th Digital Consumer Channel opens in UAE

DCC MEA brings together regional consumer electronics channel

Digital Consumer Channel (DCC) MEA opened in Fujairah, UAE today, to bring together retailers, distributors and vendors in the regional consumer IT channel.

This year's marks the seventh edition of the show, which has attracted 450 delegates and 60 international vendors.

"The MEA retail channel continues to evolve rapidly as vendors and distributors work hard to tap into growing demand across the region," commented Farouk Hemraj, CEO at DISTREE Events, the company behind DCC MEA 2011. "Despite some volatility in some markets, we have seen a great deal of interest from the retailers for our event because it gives them the opportunity to meet key decision makers from the vendors directly and discuss the needs of individual markets."

The event is a mix of boardroom presentations, keynote speeches and one-on-one meetings, to give the regional channel the chance to share new business opportunities.
The event also introduces a dedicated track for the gaming industry, GameStream 11, which is backed by RED Distribution, Sony and Microsoft.
