InfoFort launches secure data destruction service
Service to securely dispose of end-of-life hardware and data
Records and information management specialists InfoFort has launched a new Secure Data Destruction service for organisations in the MENA region.
InfoFort, an Aramex company, is offering the service to deal with physical and virtual records, and IT hardware that contains it.
The company will provide a full range of data destruction methods such as data wiping, degaussing, crushing and shredding, to help companies to meet growing compliance requirements and the need to dispose of information securely.
The services can be delivered onsite at a client's premises, or at InfoFort's management centres across the region. The company will also provide related services such as packing, collection, transportation, inventory and decommissioning.
InfoFort says the services are in compliance with US NSA/CSS standards, and meet other security standards including PCI DDS, NIST, NIST SP 800-36, NIST SP 800-88, HIPAA, PIPEDA, and GLBA.
The service also follows best practice for management of waste in an environmentally friendly manner, using recycling methods that guarantee zero landfill and zero incineration.
"The world has entered an information industrial revolution of sorts," said Abed Shaheen, managing director of InfoFort. "For the first time, organisations across the world are collectively producing far more information than anyone is able to store. While new filtering techniques are helping to determine what information is worth keeping, an even bigger emerging question is what to do with the information that isn't - and this is where InfoFort steps in."
"In an age in which data can be stored physically, electronically, locally or on a cloud network, managing information has never been more challenging. We are therefore extremely delighted to announce plans to introduce this new innovative secure data destruction service to our growing portfolio of solutions and we are confident that it will add great value and satisfy the growing data security and sustainability needs for our clients," Shaheen added.
