Meeting designed to increase channel partners awareness of Netgear products, benefits

Netgear hosts training sessions in Dubai
Netgear recently hosted a series of training workshops for channel partners in the Middle east region. The training sessions were held in Dubai at the Ramada Hotel.

Networking and storage products provider Netgear has hosted a series of sales and technical training sessions for key Middle East partners at the Ramada Hotel in Dubai.

The event was designed to increase awareness on the benefits of key networking and storage products offered by Netgear and featured talks and presentations by the company's top technical experts. Around 40 of the company's top partners in the Middle East attended the event.

Richard Jonker, managing director for Emerging Markets, Netgear led the talks, discussing strategic sales and marketing initiatives. Neil Smart, VAR Systems Engineer, UKI, Netgear conducted the technical aspect of the training.

"This event served as a perfect opportunity for Netgear to meet with its regional partners and discuss new strategies in the move to create a stronger market presence in the Middle East," said Omar Lutfi, SMB channel manager, Netgear Middle East. "There has been a dramatic increase in the number of internet users over the last ten years, which shows us how important connectivity is for both businesses and individuals. Netgear continues to provide its customers with a wide range of solutions for networking and storage that can give them better online and archiving experiences." 

The two-day event was designed to strengthen Netgear's business ties in the region following a recent industry report that showed internet users have grown 1,825.3% over the last ten years, increasing the penetration to 29.8%.

The region now has approximately 63.2 million internet users.

Jonker discussed Netgear's global expansion plans and the implementation of new sales and marketing strategies during the first day of the event. He also touched on Netgear's focus on developing the small and medium enterprise segment to increase the company's penetration into a larger target market.

Smart reviewed essential technical information about Netgear products and discussed the latest technologies that the company is utilising in the bid to roll out new internet tools, particularly in the storage segment.

Netgear recently launched the ReadyNAS 4200, aimed towards SMBs and mid-sized businesses.

The new ReadyNAS unit supports 10-Gigabit Ethernet (10GbE) and allows more redundancy and reliability.

The company also released the Netgear WC7520, a wireless controller designed for smaller IT groups. The connector is designed to give users a fully-featured Wireless LAN architecture that can support up to 1,500 users networks, minus the cost or complexity of traditional solutions.

The Netgear XCM8800 Series, which simplifies network infrastructures with purpose-built core, aggregation, and intelligent edge modules is also being introduced.

"This session not only looked toward strengthening our relationship with our key partners across the region but also aimed at giving these partners an increased understanding and knowledge of the wide range of products available for the rapidly growing IT market. At the same time, the sessions also acted as a strategic venue to discuss the current challenges in the industry and develop key solutions and strategies that can help reinforce Netgear's leadership in the Middle East region," said Lutfi.
