Qatar University joins SAP University Alliance
Qatar University becomes first in the country to join SAP University programme
Qatar University has become the first institution in the country to join the SAP University Alliance program (UAP).
The initiative will give the University's College of Business & Economics (CBE) with access to the SAP Business Suite of solutions, to give students hands-on experience with the technology, and will give the faculty the training to teach students in SAP modules.
The university is the seventeenth to join the program in the Middle East.

One key enabler of this vision is technology, and by joining the successful SAP University Alliance Program we will provide our students with the skills needed to become leaders in the field of informatics," said Qatar University President Prof Sheikha Abdulla Al-Misnad.
"Qatar is recognized internationally for its developing, and thriving knowledge economy, and SAP is dedicated to generating a base of highly-skilled workers capable of building an IT infrastructure to support this rapidly growing market. Students from Qatar University will have the tools needed to support the technology sector in the country through the skills learnt from the University Alliance Program," said Gergi Abboud, Country Manager, SAP Qatar & Kuwait.
Qatar University announced yesterday that it has signed a deal for the roll out of a new ERP solution. Mahindra Satyam will deploy Oracle E-Business Suite R12 for the University.
