Oracle Applications User Group reports annual conference attendance up 32% from 2010
The Oracle Applications User Group (OAUG) for the Middle East has hosted its third annual conference in Dubai.
OAUG Connection Point 2011 brought together over 200 executives from 100 companies across a range of vertical sectors, to discuss business technology, business solutions and future applications.
The event was opened with a keynote by Cliff Godwin, senior vice president, Applications Development, and included 35 other keynotes from Oracle executives, customers and partners.
Paul Battershill, president of the OAUG - ME, said: "Despite the currently delicate political situation in the region and the post financial crisis environment, participation at the 2011 OAUG ME grew by 32% in comparison to 2010 and 260% to 2009 when the OAUG - ME was first launched. This growth testifies to the ever-growing number of Oracle users in this part of the world just as it strongly indicates the importance the IT industry and business community attach to this unique Forum."
"As an Oracle applications user in the manufacturing sector, we are a member of the OAUG- ME and we take advantage of this unique opportunity provided by OAUG Connection Point to update our knowledge of Oracle solutions and industry trends. Also, we share our experience of Oracle applications and feedback with various other customers from the region," said Saeed S Al-Zahrani, CIO - IT & Projects Director - Saudi Cement Co. (SCC).
