Samsung partners with Al Noor Training Centre
Company launches a programme for children with special needs, provides learning equipment
Samsung Gulf has launches the Samsung Hope for Children programme in the UAE in association with the Al Noor Training Centre for Children with Special Needs.
The programme is designed to provide children with special needs with tools, technologies and opportunities to help them learn and integrate better into society.
Following the launch of the programme, Samsung provided the Al Noor Training Centre with a refurbished resource room equipped with over 50 Samsung products, including notebooks, monitors, printers, scanner and a copier to help the children learn better.
The Al Noor centre with Samsung also created an apartment equipped with Samsung home appliances, a Samsung 46" LED TV and BD player, to provide a space for the children to get used to a home environment and give them independence while at home.
Samsung's products have been used within the Al Noor Centre to aid each child's development and education through games, reading, problem-solving, mathematics and shapes activities.
Children are able to use the Samsung notebooks to develop their communication skills through typing and learning new phrases, playing educational games, learn basic IT skills and use Microsoft Word and Microsoft Paint programmes.
Students also use the home appliances for tasks such as cooking and cleaning for themselves.
Samsung is now planning to expand the Hope for Children initiative, adding a volunteer programme, to allow the Al Noor Children and Samsung's employees to interact with each other.
