Undersea cable remains breached; company hopes to fix it by 30th March

du has 30% disruption of internet services
du is experiencing a 30% degradation in internet services as the undersea cable remains breached.

du internet services are still experiencing interruptions across the Middle East region following the partial severing of the Flag-Falcon undersea cable.

du said that the cable operator is working to fix the damage, and hopes that full service will be restored soon.

"du would like to assure its customers that it has taken immediate action to ease the situation by re-routing its traffic over other available links. According to the cable operators, internet performance is expected to go back to more normal levels by March 30th 2011," said a press statement from the company.

The partial cut in the Flag-Falcon Cable System, operated by Reliance Globalcom Company occurred on 23rd March and the fault is located 30 to 45km away from the Flag-Falcon Cable landing station in Dubai.

du has experienced a 30% degradation of its internet services in across the region, including in the UAE.
