Two new models give users more shooting options

Samsung expands 2View line
Samsung has released to new cameras for its 2View dual-screen camera range.

Samsung is launching two new 2View dual screen compact cameras, the new PL170 and PL120.

These cameras offer dual-screen technology, which allows photographers to stand in front of the lens and take pictures via the 1.5-inch front-facing screen. The new models feature an Easy Self Shot feature that allows users to turn on only the front screen.

"The new Samsung 2View digital cameras combine simplicity of use and perfection; allowing consumers to directly recognise the value of what the dual LCD technology can do by ensuring the ability to take perfect profile shots even if they are not behind the camera," said Justin Shaw, general manager of AV division, Samsung Gulf Electronics. "2View is Samsung's own proprietary and we're the only provider of the technology until now. We look forward to these products improving our customers' lives in the same way that they have helped us to grow our market share over the past two years, and we will continue to innovate to make sure we have complete ownership of this segment of the market."

The new 2View camera models come with HD video recording, Smart 2.0 artistic and creative filters such as soft focus and cinema options as well as a new magic frame feature which allows users to create formatted postcards or posters.

The PL170 also features an HDMI output feature to connect the camera to HD enabled TVs.

The new models include Samsung's Smart Auto feature, which analyses brightness, colour and motion in a framed shot and adjusts the settings to suit accordingly for both still and video images.

Smart Auto has 16 different modes for images and four for video. Users can also set the camera to manual mode for more control over shooting.
