The Sony PlayStation Network will be down for 11 hours from Wednesday march 9th at 8pm to Thursday March 10th at 7am.

Sony's online gaming service, the PlayStation Network, will be offline for scheduled maintenance from 20:05 UAE time on Wednesday 9th March 2011 until 07:00 on Thursday 10th March 2011 in the UAE, Australia, New Zealand, Great Britain and Ireland.

During the maintenance, the services that will be available are PlayStation Store on PS3 and PSP, PlayStation Network Account Management and PlayStation Network Account Registration.

Users will also not be able to sign in to PlayStation Network from eu.playstation.com.

According to the Sony PlayStation blog, if users wish to play online during the maintenance, they must sign in to PSN before 20:05 on Wednesday 9th March 2011.

During this maintenance, users will still be able to collect in-game trophies, which will be updated on their profiles once the PlayStation Network is back up and running.

Last week Sony PlayStation revealed that there was a bug in the older PlayStation 3 units, affecting models before the slim PS3 launched in 2009.

"We believe we have identified that this problem is being caused by a bug in the clock functionality incorporated in the system," said Sony on its official PlayStation blog on 1st March.

The bug problems reset the date on affect systems and signs users out of the PSN service.  It also fails to display trophy data and also affects video playback.

"We are doing our best to resolve the issue and do apologise for any inconvenience caused," says Sony.
