OtterBox expands Middle East presence
OtterBox is looking to build its presence in the region.

Gadget cover manufacturer OtterBox has opened a Middle East office in Dubai and appointed Emitac Mobile Solutions as its first distributor for the region.

The company, which produces device-specific protective covers for smartphones, tablets and handhelds for a number of different vendors, aims to increase its presence in the region to address the growing market.

EMS will become the regional distributor for the Middle East, to help build the channel network in the region. OtterBox currently has retail agreements with Carrefour, Jumbo, Plug-Ins, Jacky's, CompuMe, ECity, and Skin Jam in the UAE, and a number of other retailers in Qatar, Kuwait, Jordan and Saudi Arabia.

The Middle East office will be led by Joonas Jantunen who joined OtterBox earlier this year from Nokia.

"The Middle East has been a growing market for OtterBox in recent times and this office will further cement our expansion here in the region. The initial feedback from resellers and distributors has been extremely positive and we are looking forward to forging new relationships and cementing existing partnerships within the Middle East," Jantunen commented.
