Apple’s new iPad may be revealed on March 2nd
Sources reject speculations of delays in production
Despite speculations of delays, Apple is expected to launch its new iPad on 2nd March, according to Reuters.
A source familiar with the matter said speculation about a delay in releasing the new generation tablet until June was not true and said that Apple is planning a launch in the same seasonal schedule as the first iPad, which first went on sale in April 2010.
Apple will host an event on 2nd March, where the company is expected to unveil the much-awaited new iPad model. Apple has so far declined to comment on the speculations.
According to Reuters, Apple's shares fell 3% after a Taiwanese brokerage firm said the next version of the iPad tablet computer will be delayed as manufacturer Hon Hai is facing bottlenecks due to the new design of the device.
The iPad tablet was the best-selling technology device in 2010, selling 15 million units and sparking copy-cat tablet devices form rivals.
Over 50 million tablets are expected to be sold this year, with Apple capturing the bulk of the demand.
