STME completes data management project for DSO
Dubai Silicon Oasis project to provide better uptime, reduced OPEX and easier management
STME has completed work on a data management and storage project for Dubai Silicon Oasis (DSO).
The systems integrator recently completed the roll out of a comprehensive range of solutions for DSO, including centralised storage, a disaster recovery site and Symantec storage software. The project is intended to help DSO to get the performance from its IT infrastructure, which includes a fibre optic network and a Tier III data centre, to serve the companies that are resident at the free zone technology park.

The project included setting up a centralized storage array at DSO's main site, as well as an alternate disaster recovery site linked with redundant fibre channel fabric. The system uses Symantec's Storage Foundation applications to manage high availability, remote fail over, archive and backup for mission critical servers. The project eliminates any single point of failure in the DSO infrastructure, and will simplify administration and cut operational costs for DSO.
