Cisco has launched its Cisco Cius tablet device in the GCC region.

The mobile tablet, which was announced in June last year, is designed primarily as a mobile business device to deliver virtual desktop integration with anywhere, anytime access to the full range of Cisco collaboration and communication applications, including HD video.

The Cius is an ultra-portable device weighing 0.52kg, designed to extend the productivity benefits of Cisco collaboration applications to a highly secure mobile platform.

Cisco Cius is designed to offer telepresence interoperability, HD video streaming and real-time video, multi-party conferencing, email, messaging, browsing, and the ability to produce, edit and share content stored locally or centrally in the cloud.

The Cisco Cius business tablet will also be enabled to participate in virtualised desktop environments at launch via the introduction of newly designed client applications from Citrix, VMware and Wyse.
