SanDisk expands retail presence with National Store
SanDisk aims to extend reach through 150 stores across UAE
Flash memory card company SanDisk has announced plans to expand its presence in the UAE through local distributor National Store.
The company intends to leverage National Store's network of 150 retail outlets in the country, to build on the 57% growth in units sold during 2010.
National Store, part of the JK Sons Group, is the official distribution partner for Canon in the UAE, which SanDisk says will create synergy to drive sales of its camera and imaging-related products.
Sreedhar Sreekumar, regional sales manager for SanDisk MEA said: "National Store is a well established company with a strong network of retail stores and a proven track record in distribution specifically in high performance Digital Imaging products. With National Store, we have found the right partner for the UAE to make SanDisk's range of products widely available across all consumer channels."
"The UAE's consumer electronics market is buoyant and one of the largest in the Gulf. Forecasts suggest that the UAE's consumer electronics market is projected to touch AED11.38 billion ($3.1 billion) in 2011 expected to grow to AED14.7 billion ($4.0 billion) by 2015. This growth, coupled with our strong and established presence in the UAE, will help reinforce SanDisk's brand in the market," said Salah Khoory, general manager, National Store.
Tareq Husseini, SanDisk's MEA Sales Director said: "SanDisk's leadership position in the flash memory market today is the product of years of investment in our channel partners and the market at large, through extensive marketing and market development efforts."
