SAP appoints new country GM for Egypt
Amr Ghoneim joins from IBM to lead SAP's Egypt expansion
SAP has announced the appointment of Amr Ghoneim as the new country general manager for the company in Egypt.
Ghoneim joins SAP from IBM, where we was most recently regional client executive of IBM MEA, and was previously GM for IBM Egypt.
In his new role for SAP, Ghoneim will oversee a planned expansion of the company's business in the country, and work to address the opportunities in the local market.

SAP plans to expand its resources in Egypt, with the recruitment of more local staff and expansion of its channel ecosystem. The company also plans to move to new, larger offices in Egypt by March of this year to accommodate growing headcount across a range of roles, including sales, pre-sales, consultants, services, and marketing executives. SAP says it will also introduce global and industry best practices to the Egyptian market.
Ghoneim said: "MENA represents one of the fastest growing markets within SAP, largely due to the solid and progressive foundation already established, and Egypt forms an important hub for SAP's operations in the region.
