Dell buys security provider SecureWorks
Deal will add to Dell's IT-as-a-Service portfolio
Dell has announced that it will acquire information security services provider SecureWorks for an undisclosed amount.
The deal will help expand Dell's IT-as-a-Service offerings, through the addition of SecureWork's portfolio of managed-security services, security and risk consulting services and threat intelligence.
SecureWorks has a customer base of several thousand clients across a range of industries, including more than 15% of the Fortune 500, with customers in
Security-as-a-Service solutions include Managed-Security Services, Security and Risk Consulting Services and Threat Intelligence mid-sized businesses, financial services, utilities, healthcare, retail and manufacturing.
The deal is expected to close early this year, and Dell said that it plans to maintain SecureWorks' current operations and continue to make investments in enhanced security offerings.
