Aptec provided resellers with details of Cisco’s latest small business offering.

IT distributor Track has trained more than 60 UAE resellers on a range of Cisco small business products at an event in Dubai.

The Aptec-owned company, which is an authorised distributor for Cisco in a number of regional territories, demonstrated Cisco's UCS proposition and put resellers through their paces on a range of technologies aimed at SMEs.

"The Cisco Small Business Portfolio is not only a very strong proposition in the small businesses (sub-50 user segment), but is a fantastic portfolio of products at the edge/end-point for enterprise end-users (100 user-plus segment)," said Shailendra Sainani, deputy general manager of Track Distribution.

"Cisco UCS/SPA phones, managed switches, surveillance and storage are areas where Cisco SB products would be value for money for any type of business," he added.

Syed Sameer Ali, product manager for Cisco SB at Track Distribution, believes the training seminar served as a platform for the distributor to engage with both new and existing partners.

"This was an excellent opportunity to create awareness and educate the channel on Cisco SB and for them to provide their customers with cost-effective solutions without compromising on the quality. We will launch more similar Cisco Small Business events in other countries in next three months," he said.

Aptec operates offices and warehouses in eight different countries in the region and claims to employ more than 500 staff. The company generated revenues of US$336m, according to the Channel Middle East 2010 Power List.
