Tayfun Topkoc will be in charge of overseeing all sales and channel management activities for HP’s software and solutions division in the Middle East.

Hewlett-Packard has confirmed the appointment of Tayfun Topkoc as the new regional director of its software and solutions division in the Middle East.

In his new role, Topkoc will be responsible for sales, marketing and channel management along with providing consultancy and support services across markets in the region.

Topkoc replaces Mahmoud Mounir, who recently moved to the position of software BTO operation regional sales manager for the entire Middle East, Africa and Mediterranean region.

HP claims Topkoc's appointment is a "clear demonstration" of its strategic focus on developing its software and solutions business. Additionally, his post will involve strengthening relationships with strategic partners and further developing the regional service base and HP ecosystem.

Prior to moving to the Middle East, Topkoc was country manager for HP Software and Solutions in Turkey. According to HP, he accelerated growth for the unit by increasing market share from 11% to 45% and led the team in winning numerous accolades for HP Turkey.

Under his leadership, HP also established a research and development arm in Turkey, which develops localised software for Turkey using international practices.

Topkoc has been with HP for more than a decade, initially starting out in marketing roles.
