Juniper has developed a Junos Pulse security app specifically for iPads.

Juniper Networks has released a new security application for the iPad, the Junos Pulse App, which is designed to enable secure remote access and connectivity to all enterprise resources. The App is available for free download on iOS 4.2 from the Apple iTunes App Store.

"Our customers have started to deploy iPads to enable the productivity of their mobile workforce," said Sanjay Beri, vice president and general manager Access & Acceleration Business Unit Service Layer Technologies Business Group at Juniper Networks. "Juniper's Junos Pulse App for iPad now provides the level of security customer's require, removing the main barrier to enterprise adoption. Organizations can now have peace of mind that their mobile workforce is secure whether they are using laptops, smartphones or tablets."

According to Juniper, 65% of Fortune 500 companies use the iPad and over 7.5 million have been sold so far worldwide.

The Junos Pulse App builds on the company's SA Series SSL VPN solution used by 25 million end users to remotely connect their devices, according to the company.

"It is a corporate requirement for us to provide the highest form of secure remote access to our employees who use a variety of mobile productivity devices, including iPad's," said Ruy Neto, technology manager at Brazil-based technology company Terra. The company recently deployed iPads for its executive staff and is using Junos Pulse to secure them.

"With Junos Pulse we have peace of mind that our corporate devices and information are secure when our executives are accessing internal systems and the corporate intranet from their mobile devices," Neto said.
