Ericsson is showcasing its next generation of technologies from the back of a lorry, at the Yas Marina Circuit, Yas Island, Abu Dhabi.

The Director General of TRA, UAE Mohamad AlGhanim, other UAE officials and regional operators have attended the display, which is being held under the motto ‘Time to Act, Space to Think'.

The Ericsson truck has been converted to provide a mobile demonstration centre,  to provide visitors an opportunity to examine new technologies and trends as well as Ericsson's new solutions.

Ray Hassan, President of Ericsson Gulf Council Countries (GCC), Ericsson, said: "Ericsson presents sustainable solutions and alternatives that increase efficiency, reduce operating costs and also develop new opportunities and add new revenue streams."

He added, "On the one hand, broadband penetration can further boost the GDP growth and help create jobs and on the other, providing broadband to the mass population can bring massive development to business, learning, health and education."

LTE demonstrations, along with demonstrations of new technologies for full-service broadband are also being held at the event, which opened this week.

"Interactive events establish creative synergies between all the stakeholders in the industry; they represent a good opportunity for ICT partners to share ideas and views on common issues. As a part of its role in regulating and supervising the ICT sector in the UAE, TRA is committed to participating in these events to further enhance the relationship between the businesses and to develop societal growth," said Mohamed Nasser Al Ghanim, TRA Director General who opened the event.
