Epson brings new distributor on board in MENA
Latest appointment designed to improve vendor’s market share in North Africa and Iraq
Mohammad Ekrayem & Sons (MES) has gained Epson distribution rights for North Africa and Iraq.
The Jebel Ali-based company's appointment comes as Epson looks to expand its presence in a number of emerging markets across the MENA region.
Khaldoun Ekrayem, managing director of MES, described the partnership as "strategically important" for the distributor, which has been operating in the market for more than two decades.
"This partnership opens exciting growth possibilities for both parties as we have been witnessing a surge in demand for technology solutions across North Africa and in Iraq," he added.
Ahmad Qasem, channel sales manager at Epson, is hoping MES' experience of the channel will turn out to be a valuable asset as it bids to increase its share of some of the region's fastest-growing markets. He also hints that there could be more distribution appointments to follow.
"Epson is currently focusing on growing its business volume in emerging markets in North Africa as well as in Iraq, so we will certainly need distributors that can boost our strategic presence and drive our sales performance in these markets," said Qasem.
MES offers products from a number of global brands and is understood to be particularly strong in the Syrian market, where it is the local agent for LG Electronics.
