Telco sector poised for CommsMEA Awards
More than 300 telecoms professionals are set to attend the event on November 30 at Jumeirah Emirates Towers, Dubai.
The judging process for the 5th edition of the CommsMEA Awards has been completed, but the shortlisted companies will have to wait until the ceremony, which is being held on November 30, to discover whether they have beaten their rivals to win one of the 15 prestigious awards.
The awards will be presented during a gala dinner at the Godolphin Ballroom, Jumeirah Emirates Towers, which is within walking distance of Dubai World Trade Center, where the GSM/3G Telco World Summit is due to take place.
The evening will kick off with a cocktail reception at 7.30pm, followed by the awards.
This year's winners were selected by a panel of international judges comprising: Milan Sallaba, telecoms advisor and investor; Jawad Abbassi, founder and general manager, Arab Advisors Group; Akshay Lamba, chief architect and head of IT strategy at MTS India; Alan Horne, telecommunications regulator in Vanuatu, South Pacific; and David Tusa, principal, Booz & Company, Middle East.
The awards were particularly hard fought this year, with more than 80 entries pouring in across 15 categories, a high proportion of which made it through to the shortlist.
The winners will collect their awards in front of 300-plus of the leading lights of the Middle East and Africa's telecoms sector.
