The new program protects in real time, detects malware mutations

ESET releases Mac anti-virus software
ESET has released a new anti-virus security software solution for Mac.

Antivirus software maker, ESET, has released a software security solution for Mac computers in the Middle East.

ESET Cybersecurity is aimed at the home user, and has been designed to offer protection against both cross-platform and emerging threats.

ESET's Threatsense scanning engine is designed to detect and clean malicious code, incuding threats designed for Windows operating systems.

"ESET Cybersecurity complements your Mac's security features with unique proactive detection technology. Capable of intercepting threats that target multiple platforms - Mac, Windows and Linux, this product delivers unrivaled, comprehensive protection," said Richard Marko, CTO at ESET.

The software is designed to detect and protect users from malware in real time and is said to able to detect unfamiliar mutations of known malware types.

"ESET Cybersecurity will provide users of Mac the same high level of protection that our customers have come to expect from ESET. The advanced ThreatSense scanning engine offers the Mac user proactive protection, where it will detect and clean known and unknown threats automatically, " said Neo Neophytou, MD of ADAOX, ESET's Regional Business Development.

ESET Cybersecurity requires 32-bit or 64-bit Intel processors and supports Mac OS X 10.5.x (Leopard) and Mac OS X 10.6.x (Snow Leopard). The product requires 35MB disk space for download. The product is currently available on ESET's website.
