Pano Logic pushes into North African market
Desktop virtualisation specialist forms partnership with Libyan distributor
Pano Logic solutions will now be available in the Libyan market following a partnership between the cloud vendor's Middle East operation of the same name and local distributor Altaqnya for Data and Communication.
As a result of the tie-up, Altaqnya will serve as the sole distributor of Pano Logic technology to resellers in Libya and will provide sales and technical training to partners in the region.
"End-user organisations in Libya have typically been very early adopters of technologies, and already our partners are seeing interest in desktop virtualisation," said Ayoub Elfghi, CEO of Altaqnya.
"The size of the opportunity for resellers is significant, which makes Pano Logic a strategically important addition to our technology portfolio. As sole distributors of the Pano System in Libya, we can offer a unique proposition based around the only true-zero client on the market and a radically centralised architecture," he added.
Pano Logic claims it solves "major challenges" inherent in the current PC-based, client-server computing model, while providing end users with the same, familiar PC-like Windows experience.
The company's technology purports to reduce total cost of ownership by as much as 80% through a process of eliminating end-point device management, support and obsolescence. Instead, end users connect to their virtual machine with a zero client that contains no processor, operating system, memory, drivers or software.
Sherif Hamed, CEO of Dubai-based Pano Logic Middle East, is confident Altaqnya's reputation as a distributor with expertise in a number of technology areas will serve it well in Libya.
"Its experience in helping resellers deliver virtualisation solutions makes Altaqnya an ideal distribution partner for Pano Logic as we look to drive adoption of our zero-client technology in the region," he added.
